The Global Underground show, goes out weekly on Deal radio on Sunday @5pm (UK time) and the Mixcloud as an extended podcast every Monday, plays a broad spectrum of music from around the world, covering every possible genre of music with an African and south American flavour, at times to it.

The show has a broad reach and regularly features in the Global charts on Mixcloud.

Each week I endeavour to play a mixture of new releases, classics and venture to different countries to get a taste of different sounds. A real detour around the world’s audio landscapes!

if you want to send a request for certain kinds of music or give a shout out or dedication to someone, I am always delighted to hear from listeners. Each show garners listeners from around the globe with regular listeners from Germany, Colombia, Spain & of course the UK.

I also welcome record labels sending in new music or individual musicians, and regularly play music from the Caribbean & Finland from established record labels.

I retired to what I thought at the time was a quiet seaside town and instead found something entirely different - a town with a lively music scene and Deal Radio! I worked for the NHS for 35 years managing mental health services. Now, after a chance encounter with Deal Radio weeks before the 2020 lockdown, I volunteer as a DJ and have a radio show under my belt. With no previous broadcasting experience, it was a challenging beginning that led to The Global Underground radio show.
